WHY can nothing be easy?!

UPDATE:
Our current prop mgmt left a message saying we can return the keys on the first and then the new ppl decided it was okay if we moved in a few days early, so long as we pay pro-rated rent. Why not? It's only money, right? *rolls eyes*
And in the midst of this G found out he has to be in a funeral procession on Saturday morning. A man who worked for the Sheriff's Dept had a heart attack during a charity football game. 44 years old. Three kids under 12. Sad. (The Sheriff's Dept, along with other agencies, works with the CG on some task force so a lot of ppl at the station knew him.)
I guess my plan for now is ask to get the keys Sunday morning, rent the UHaul Saturday afternoon when G gets home, load it up, except the beds, move Sunday morning, clean Sunday afternoon and see if carpet ppl can come later so I have more time to finish up. Although I'm sure they won't meet on Sunday so we'll have to pay for Saturday too. I wonder if the new house comes with a money tree in the backyard...

So our lease is up on March 31st. Fine. That's a Monday. Fabulous. When we looked at the six or so places in the past however many weeks we asked if we could get the keys that weekend before, everyone said no problem. Everyone apparently except the management of the place we went with. We've been dealing with a broker for the past three weeks, he had always said it wouldn't be an issue. Well the prop mgmt/builders say no key til the 1st cause of liability issues. Ugh. And of course we all remember the stupid company we rent from now. They want us to have the carpets cleaned once our stuff is moved out, which means we'd have the carpets cleaned on the 31st, which then means we'd have to have our stuff out on the 30th. So apparently we're supposed to be in limbo for 2 or 3 days. I am so annoyed, aggrevated and frustrated right now. I've been planning on us moving Friday and Saturday, cleaning on Sunday and having carpets cleaned/finish stuff up on Monday before turning in keys. Our broker is trying to get them to let us have the keys earlier if we pay pro-rated rent and sign a release of liability and our current ppl say we can prob have it another day if we pay pro-rated rent here, but they're gonna look into it. I am not renting a UHaul to keep our stuff in for three days and getting a hotel room or something. This is crazy! We've never had to have the carpets cleaned on our own before. This is their stupid policy, they should be a little more accomodating! And let's not even get started on the fact that I went by the new place today and we still don't have appliances or blinds and no one was working. Nor do I see a mailbox and the USPS doesn't recognize the address. I am SO over this crap.
