Ever since Riley sent M a doll car seat for her birthday she's been carting her newborn CPK around. We've had to take Mimi (the doll) in the car seat with a diaper bag to dinner and the playground on Friday night, Publix and the playground yesterday and when we're home she spends a great deal of time pushing the baby around in her homemade travel system. I have debated getting her another dolly stroller since technically, as D just pointed out, it's his CPK Dexter's stroller. To try to end the fighting over the doll stroller yet again, I called D over and told him I had a secret to ask him. I reminded him that tomorrow is M's birthday and that he still needed to pick out a present for her, thinking he'd put two and two together. I asked what he thought he should get her. He thought for a few seconds, smiled and said, "Something she'd really like!" Uh huh, like what? "I don't know," he says. I think he gets his smarts from his father. Or his grandmother, let me share this little convo with you from the other day...
Mom: "Do I know anyone in Pine Island, FL?"
Me: "I don't know, Mom, do you? It's right down the street from us."
Mom: "Well, do you know whose number is xxx-xxx-xxxx?"
Me: "Uh, what number do you think you just dialed?"
Mom: "I didn't dial, I just click on 'Jess' and it calls you"
Me: "That's our number, Mom...."
Mom: "Oh, well I was just looking at my phone bill wondering why I spend so much time talking to that number. I guess it's okay if it's you."
Me: "Gee thanks, Mom."
